It’s a little ambiguous, eh? Most photographers specialize in genres that are pretty self-explanatory. Engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, family, seniors,… you get the idea. Relationship photography is a style that isn’t of those sets of people, but about the love and dynamics within a set of people. The warm and fuzzy ones are pretty easy to get right. But sometimes there are emotional ambiguities - family dynamics affected by things like illness, family changes, special needs, etc., that are realities in a family group. These are important stories to tell, as well as ones where everything is all ooey-gooey sweetness and light, and are some of my favorite sessions to do.
